It is December, 1993. It seemed as though one handshake, seen by millions around the world at the signing ceremony of the Oslo Accords, that lasting peace between two old enemies, Israelis and Palestinians, might be achieved in the space of a single lifetime. It was believed that these would be the first steps towards a lasting peace in the Middle East. For many centuries, many peoples had laid claim to the area now known as Israel and the surrounding territories. They had pursued their claims with ardent passion. This is the land where Moses and Mohammad walked; a land worth dying for; a land worth killing for. For too long, Israelis and Palestinians had been unable to pass each others in the streets without fear. But for peace to succeed, the two sides would have to come to terms with a just and equitable peace, and with that secured, discard their mutual mistrust and hatred. In this documentary film, for the first time, each side was enabled to examine the attitudes of its enemy by bringing together each side of this age-old conflict. In order to help bring peace to the region, this film sought to bring black and white issues of the past into the colored palette of compromise, in an honest fervent hope to calm and assuage the ancient deadly currents of The Middle East.
